Perhaps I'm just an overly literal-minded person, but I've never understood the impulse to get on the internet and lie one's a** off. If it's for the sake of a genuinely funny bit, I can accept it — many a hilarious viral post has been born that way. However, when it comes to the countless examples of catfishing, scamming, and making the lives of others worse through tall tales, it truly baffles me. We should all know by now that internet clout isn't exactly that great!
Still, there are people out there who think that letting out an endless stream of BS onto social media will fulfil them in some way, much to the chagrin of the rest of us. If it's any consolation, it can occasionally be amusing when they get called out on it. Those in the examples below might be varying levels of insufferable, but at least we have the satisfaction that they are grating on others, too.
